Growing Wings

Concept piece for a new character design.

I was frustrated with several of my old anthro character designs - particularly the ones I expressed my own emotions through the most. I just couldn't advance their designs in parallel with my own increases in skills, and I wasn't feeling a connection to them in the same way. To sum up, I changed a lot, and they stayed more or less the same.

I'm trying to get back into doodling anthros every once and a while again. I'll keep Kyra, Nika, and Talin around, as well as the others, but Kyra and Nika no longer represent me, they're just characters now.

This character is an effort to see myself in my art again. I can't seem to bring myself to actually draw myself as a human, though some of my human(oid) characters have very similar traits/lives. I can't seem to fit my emotions into them as well, though.

She's a new combination of species I really like - caracal and osprey. I have several variations of her I'm planning on testing out - I might end up with a few different forms she can take on.

I kind of was really lazy on the wings in this piece, I know... I'm hoping this girl, and the other new character I'm working on to be an update for who Talin represented, will give me plenty of practice on wings.

Anyways, I've written enough, I should think. Any feedback on the design would be appreciated. Also, any suggestions on a name would be great! I can't seem to think of any yet...
